You must evaluate your employee's work duties and environment and consider a medical condition to be work-related if an event or exposure in your work environment:

• Caused or contributed to the resulting condition.
• Significantly aggravated a pre-existing injury or illness.

The exceptions are:

• The medical condition involves signs or symptoms that surfaced at work but resulted solely from a non-work-related event or exposure.
• The medical condition resulted solely from voluntary participation in a non-work related activity

You must obtain medical advice from the employee’s treating doctor on whether there is a likelihood that your employee's work duties and work environment had contributed to the medical condition or significantly aggravated a pre-existing injury or illness.

You can report to MOM if:

• Your employee claims that his work had caused his medical condition.
• You are not able to obtain the medical advice by the reporting deadline.
