Why is the salary threshold for compulsory WIC insurance coverage for non-manual employees increased to $2,600?

Updated by MOM

The salary threshold of $2,600 (with effect from 1 April 2021) is aligned with the new salary threshold for non-workmen under Part IV of the Employment Act. This provides assurance to the employees most at risk of financial hardship if their employers are unable to compensate.
