What is the difference between MC and light duty?
When an employee is on light duty, they are required to report to work unless they are excused by their employer.
When an employee is on medical certificate (MC), they are not required to report to work and will still be entitled for medical leave wages, subjected to the rates and limits under WICA 2019.
Refer to the doctor’s memo or MC to find out if your worker is given MC or light duty.
