My child is already in secondary school. Am I still eligible for extended childcare leave?

Extended childcare leave is based on your child's age. You will be eligible for extended childcare leave up till your child's 13th birthday if:

  • Your child was born towards the end of the year and
  • You used your first 6 days of childcare leave only after your child turned one

The extended childcare leave can be taken at any time within the leave year as long as the child is below 13 as at the start of the leave year.
