What is the Silver Volunteer Fund under the Council for Third Age?
The Silver Volunteer Fund (SVF) was launched in 2016 as part of the National Senior Volunteerism Movement under the first Action Plan for Successful Ageing.
In 2023, the Council for Third Age (C3A) rolled out the Enhanced Silver Volunteer Fund (ESVF) to provide funding support for volunteer host organisations to offer a diverse range of volunteering opportunities for seniors.
Volunteer host organisations can tap on the ESVF to offer training and development opportunities and increase volunteer appreciation efforts for volunteers to better retain and grow their pool of senior volunteers. The ESVF also fosters exchanges to encourage sharing of knowledge and best practices amongst volunteer host organisations.
