The changes to MediShield Life benefits will be implemented progressively from 1 April 2025.

Premiums will be adjusted from 1 April 2025 onwards upon policy renewal or inception. To cushion the premium increases, it will be phased in evenly over these three years. This will be effected through the Phased Support which is provided to all Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents for two years. It is applied to the net premium increase between the new MediShield Life premium and the premium before 1 April 2025 (after any applicable Premium Subsidies, Pioneer Generation Subsidies, or Merdeka Generation Subsidies).

The Government will also provide additional support measures, which include increase in premium subsidies, additional Medisave top-ups and expansion of Additional Premium Support. Please refer to the MediShield Life 2024 Review press release for more details.
