Why are licensees required to seek approval from MOH for the appointment of a CGO, but not for a PO?
Healthcare Services (General) Regulations, Governance of Licensees
Unlike the PO, the CGO needs to fulfil specific requirements for competencies and qualifications in order to be deemed as a suitable individual to discharge the CGO’s roles and responsibilities. Hence, checking these requirements upfront provides greater assurance that the appointed individual is able to effectively perform the role of the CGO.
