Can licensees appoint a QAC for a service that is not listed in the HCSA General Regulations?
Healthcare Services (General) Regulations, Committees appointed by licensee
Yes, the licensee may appoint a QAC for a healthcare service that is not listed in the General Regulations, and take reference from the QAC requirements stipulated under HCSA, in the interests of ensuring quality and safety
However, the protection from personal liability offered under Section 55 of the HCSA is not applicable to such QACs, as the licensee is not legally required to set these up.
