Should I test myself with an ART if I suspect that I have COVID-19?
ART testing is no longer routinely needed for healthy persons with acute respiratory infection (ARI) symptoms.
Nonetheless, ART kits remain commercially available. Individuals who choose to self-test should note that a negative result does not always mean you are not infected as your symptoms may be caused by other common viruses or bacteria.
Persons with mild ARI symptoms, including those infected with COVID-19, should stay at home until their symptoms resolve. If there is a need to go out while symptomatic, they should exercise social responsibility by minimising social interactions, wearing a mask, and avoiding crowded places or meeting medically vulnerable persons.
Medically vulnerable persons such as seniors and those with chronic medical conditions, as well as persons with severe, prolonged, or worsening symptoms, should see a doctor.
