Updated by MLAW

Filing a Statement of Account of Moneys and Property Received ("SMP")

The SMP is a mandatory report filed and submitted every 6 months by the bankrupt to the appointed trustee in bankruptcy (this is the person assigned by the court to manage your bankruptcy case) detailing an account of all moneys and property which have come to his hand for his own use.

Submitting your SMP

Step 1: Login to the Insolvent Person's Portal at https://go.gov.sg/bankruptcy via Singpass Login.

Step 2: Fill in your details

  • Personal particulars

  • Employment details

  • Any other sources of income

  • Particulars of financial supporters, if any.

Step 3: Upload supporting documents

E.g., Employment letter, CPF statement, Utility Bills and IR8A from IRAS.

Step 4: Review and submit

The step-by-step guide to submitting a SMP can be found at https://io.mlaw.gov.sg/bankruptcy/information-for-bankrupts/userguides/.

What happens after you submit

The bankrupt will receive an e-filing number after submitting the SMP. The appointed trustee will review the submission and contact the bankrupt if there are any clarifications required.
