Annexes A (for Muslims) and B (for non-Muslims) (available at at https://pto.mlaw.gov.sg/deceased-cpf-estate-monies/information/) set out the list of required documents. For a reimbursement of funeral expenses from the deceased's un-nominated CPF monies / Estate, Annex C (available at https://pto.mlaw.gov.sg/deceased-cpf-estate-monies/information/) sets out the list of required documents.

The required documents are:

a) Deceased’s Information (or other identification document, for non-Singaporeans)

i) Birth Certificate (if the Deceased did not have any child, or was a Muslim, or was domiciled in Malaysia)
ii) Death Certificate (if the Deceased passed away outside Singapore)
iii) Certificate of Inheritance (if the Deceased was a Muslim)

b) Documents evidencing the Deceased’s relations, such as the immediate family

i) Identification Documents (for non-Singaporeans)
ii) Birth Certificate
iii) Death Certificate (if the relation has passed away)
iv) Marriage Certificate (where applicable)
v) Court order for the dissolution of marriage or decree nisi absolute (where applicable)

c) If the deceased was domiciled outside of Singapore and Malaysia, please also submit:

i) Intestacy law of the country of domicile
ii) Legal opinion on how the Deceased’s estate should be distributed in accordance with the relevant country’s intestacy law

d) To receive payment via GIRO to a non-DBS / non-POSB bank account, please submit a copy of the beneficiary’s bank passbook or statement showing the bank account and holder’s name (No documents required for payment via PayNow)

e) Supporting documents for the Assets which you require the Public Trustee’s assistance to administer

You will be assigned a case officer after you have submitted your online application. Please inform your case officer if you do not possess some of the required documents. Your case officer will advise you on what to do after you have submitted your online application.
