How long will it take to complete my legal aid case?

The time needed to complete your case depends on a number of factors, e.g. the legal and factual complexity of the case, and whether the opposing party is legally represented and contesting the case.

Each case is unique and the time taken to complete your case will vary. However, as a rough estimate, straightforward cases (e.g. an uncontested divorce case where parties are able to agree on ancillary issues) will usually take less than 12 months to complete.
