Do we need to submit a draft constitution as part of an application to set up a law practice?
Yes, if the proposed law practice will be structured as a Singapore law practice law corporation (LLC). The draft constitution should be uploaded as a supporting document in your online application via LSRA e-Services.
You may use LSRA's specimen clauses when drafting your constitution, and should submit the document in Word format with tracked changes. Please note that your application may require more time to process if your draft constitution contains significant deviations from our specimen clauses and/or does not satisfy the legislative requirements.
You can refer to the relevant provisions in the Legal Profession Act and Legal Profession (Law Practice Entities) Rules 2015 for the requirements relating to an LLC's constitution.
