Is the main hirer or the guarantor liable for the debt?

The main hirer is liable for the debt. If the guarantor's liability has arisen pursuant to the terms of the guarantee agreement with the hire purchase company, the guarantor will also be liable for the debt. The Official Assignee will ensure that no over payment is made to the creditor.
