What is the purpose of the medical review?

Updated by MINDEF
The medical review allows our SAF Medical Officer (MO) to ascertain if your injury has stabilised and whether there will be any resulting permanent disability.  If your injury has stabilised and there is resulting permanent disability, the SAF MO will obtain your consent to request for a Disability Assessment Report (DAR) on your service injury from the government restructured hospital, polyclinic or community hospital, where you have sought treatment for your service injury.  If you have sought treatment from a private hospital, you are required to obtain the DAR from your private Specialist. The cost for the DAR will not be reimbursed by MINDEF.
