SAF medical officers do not endorse Medical Certificates (MC), but document them.    MCs issued by non-SAF physicians registered with the Singapore Medical/Dental Council are considered valid by the SAF.    The Unit Commander will then process the case based on medical conditions and recommendations given by the SAF MO, if any.    Deferment from ICT is a command decision. A NSman who is issued an MC and is excused from physical activities may still be called back for ICT to perform other duties.
