Deferment refers to a postponement of a specific ORNS Call-up. NSmen are called up based on the SAF's operational and manpower requirements. NSmen from the same unit are called back for ICT together so that they can train as a cohesive unit. NSmen may login and apply for deferment via the ICT and Manning eService on OneNS https://www.ns.gov.sg/web/dashboard/ict-and-manning/. All deferment applications will be assessed by Unit Commanders on a case-by-case basis, subject to the unit's training needs.
