I passed my Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT), can I request for reduction for my NS serving period?

Updated by MINDEF

You may be eligible for an 8-week reduction in your full-time NS duration based on your medical fitness, and if you attain 61 points or more in your pre-enlistee Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT).

·       Enlisting before Oct 2027. You can take the pre-enlistee IPPT if you are medically graded PES A/B1.

·       Enlisting from Oct 2027 onwards. If you are eligible for the 8-week reduction in full-time NS, you will be informed via OneNS to book your Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT).

You will qualify for direct basic training if you attain this IPPT result at least two weeks before the Physical Training Phase (PTP) enlistment. You will then enlist later into the next available basic training intake.

You can attempt your pre-enlistee IPPT as many times as you like up till the last Wednesday at least 14 calendar days before your enlistment date. Your pre-enlistee IPPT results are valid for 1 year after the test.
