How am I deployed to Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) for my National Service (NS)?
The deployment of full-time National Servicemen to the Singapore Civil Defence Force, Singapore Police Force, and Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) takes into account the operational and manpower requirements of the uniformed services, the individual's fitness as well as the individual's suitability to perform the requisite tasks and responsibilities of the respective uniformed Service. Based on these factors, you have been scheduled for enlistment into the Basic Military Training Centre (BMTC) in the SAF. You will be assigned to a unit and vocation at the end of your Basic Military Training (BMT. Your performance during BMT and your vocation interests indicated during the pre-enlistment process will be taken into consideration when you are assigned to a unit and vocation. Each serviceman, regardless of the vocation he is deployed to, plays an important role and will have opportunities to contribute to national defence and security.
