For personnel on salary scales with annual increment, salary upon promotion is computed based on the 'plus-one-increment-and-move' principle. It means one increment on your current salary scale will be added to your current Rank Pay before you are placed onto the salary scale you are promoted to. If the amount after the added increment happens to be a salary point in the new salary scale, you will be placed on this point; if not, you will be placed on the next higher point on the new salary scale.
