How does the Massage Establishments Act reduce the regulatory burden for low-risk activities?
With effect from 1 March 2018, low-risk massage activities will no longer require a licence. This includes healthcare premises, premises where massages are administered by registered healthcare practitioners, or only to customers below the age of 12.
Licensed Massage Establishment operators with good compliance track records may be issued licences with longer validity periods.
