I would like to know more about the home smoke alarms which will be installed in all newly built homes.

Since June 2018, Home Fire Alarm Devices (HFADs) are mandatory for newly built homes, and existing homes undergoing fire safety works. HFADs detect fires and provide early warning, enabling occupants to extinguish small fires or evacuate safely. All residents are strongly encouraged to install HFADs in their homes.
