Updated by MHA Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer with the Singapore Prison Service (SPS).
If you are at least 21 years old and have a desire to support others, the SPS Befriending Programme offers a meaningful opportunity to walk alongside inmates on their journey of rehabilitation and reintegration.
No special qualifications are required.
As a befriending volunteer, you will engage with inmates through e-letters, phone calls, or face-to-face sessions regularly.
Comprehensive training will be provided before and during your first year of volunteering. To find out more about volunteering with the SPS and sign up, please visit https://www.mha.gov.sg/getinvolved/i-want-to-volunteer/home-team-volunteer-schemes/singapore-prison-service-befriending-programme/ or email us at PRIS_Volunteers@pris.gov.sg.
