Is there a minimum percentage which charities are required to meet or comply with the Code guidelines? Are they expected to meet 100% compliance in future?
Given the diversity of the charity sector and feedback from the charities, the Charity Council recognises the unique circumstances faced by each charity and understand that it might not be possible for all charities to adopt 100% of the Code guidelines at the point of submission.
Compliance with at least 80% of the guidelines is a good indication that most of the key recommended governance practices are adopted/implemented by the charity.
With the revised Code, IPCs are expected to achieve 100% compliance as must be held to higher standards of accountability as they enjoy benefits from their IPC status.
The Charity Council strongly encourages all charities to do their best to adopt the Code guidelines and strive to achieve 100% compliance.
