Why does staff have to serve in the charities for at least 6 months before he/she can be funded?
The training grant used to only support board members and key staff of charities. However, charities have appealed for funding support for non-key management staff over the years. Given their limited manpower, non-key management staff take up different roles to support the operational needs of the charities.
The training grant has thus been expanded to fund staff who have served in the charities for at least 6 months with an official designation. The timeframe of 6 months was imposed to ensure that funds are invested in individuals who are committed to contribute and support the charities’ work.
