How do we use the donor report for tax deduction receipts and IRAS submission?

Updated by KAMPUNGSPIRIT

Issuing receipts and submitting records to IRAS are your IPC's responsibility. KampungSpirit does not issue receipts, set your minimum, or submit on your behalf.

Steps

  1. Filter the report by your minimum donation amount. The report does not flag eligibility.

    1. Donations below your minimum, or several small donations from one donor, follow your IPC's own policy. Each donation is listed separately with its date and time.

    2. Anonymous donations are included with the same details as non-anonymous donations. Anonymity only hides the donor's name from the "Recently donated" list on your page.

  2. Issue your own serially numbered Tax Deduction Receipt (TDR) for each qualifying donation. An email address is required only to send it to the donor, not to issue it. See the Charity Portal guidance.

  3. Submit your 2026 donation records to IRAS by 31 January 2027, so the deductions can appear in donors' Year of Assessment (YA) 2027 tax assessments. See IRAS: Submission of donation records.

Good to know

  • IRAS reflects deductions automatically from the records you submit, and does not accept claims based on receipts.

  • IRAS sets no minimum donation amount. Where an IPC sets one, it must be shown to donors, which is why yours appears on your IPC page. See IRAS: Donations and tax deductions.

  • On KampungSpirit, donors cannot opt out of tax deductions, and only the person who donated is entitled to it. A record cannot be amended to another household member. Please refer such requests to IRAS.

  • Donations made by 31 December 2026 that reach you in January 2027 fall under Year of Assessment 2027. IRAS has clarified, through the People's Association, that you may record the December date for your IRAS submission, using the date and time in your report. Your accounting treatment is unchanged.

  • You may contact donors about their tax deduction. Donors consent to this before donating.
