If stamp duty has been paid on a tenancy agreement for the whole property, is stamping still required when subleasing one of the rooms?

Stamp duty is a tax on documents (physical or electronic) relating to immovable properties, stocks, and shares.

Therefore, if there is an agreement to sublease the room, stamping will be required for the document, and lease duty is payable.

Lease duty is computed based on the contractual rent or market rent, whichever is higher, at a rate of 0.4%.
