Is additional stamp duty required if the rent is increased after the initial stamp duty was paid on the original tenancy agreement?

Updated by IRAS

Yes, additional stamp duty is payable on the document that was executed to affect the rent increase, even if stamp duty was previously paid on the original lease agreement.

You can stamp the variation of the lease via the e-Stamping Portal:

1. Go to "Stamping".

2. Select "Lease/Tenancy".

3. Under Nature of Transaction, select "Variation of Lease".
