Do we need to pay Additional Buyer's Stamp (ABSD) when buying our first home in Singapore if I'm a Singapore PR and my wife is a US citizen?
For purchases made jointly by two or more buyers of different profiles, the highest applicable ABSD rate will apply on the entire value of the property purchased.
However, under the Free Trade Agreement ABSD Remission, US citizens will be accorded the same stamp duty treatment as Singapore Citizens.
As such, ABSD Remission for a Married Couple will apply for joint purchase of your first matrimonial house.
