I am a Singapore Citizen and had purchased an HDB flat with my fiance/fiancee who is an SPR. Is Additional Buyer's Stamp Duty (ABSD) payable?
ABSD is fully remitted under the Acquisition of HDB Flats and new Executive Condominium (EC) Units Remission if any of the joint acquirers/purchasers is a Singapore Citizen.
1. Remission is granted automatically upon approval of the acquisition by HDB.
2. Remission is not applicable for Resale EC.
Therefore, ABSD is not payable for the joint purchase of your HDB flat.
