If I commission an artist to design a piece of artwork, and use that to be printed on a shirt. Would I be in any legal trouble?

I want to start a clothing company and wanted to outsource an artist to design and I will pay for the work he/she has done. Will I be copyright claimed?

Please note that the ownership of the copyright of the work will belong to the creator unless stated otherwise in your agreement and contract.

For your information, the ownership of the copyright can be assigned or transferred,  if both parties are agreeable to the terms which is a private agreement or contract between the parties.
