Updated by IPOS IPOS conducts an examination on formal requirements of the:
- application form D3;
- representations;
- statement of novelty;
- statement relating to confidential disclosure, if any;
- statement relating to previous ran application for registration of a design if, on the face of the application, the design is not new or is not registrable for any other reason.egistration of design in respect of other articles, if any; and claim to priority.
If any of the requirements are not met, IPOS will notify the applicant and give him an opportunity to correct the non-compliance accordingly. If the applicant fails to correct any non-compliance related to formal requirements within the period specified by IPOS, the application shall be treated as withdrawn.
IPOS is also able to refuse an application for registration of a design if, on the face of the application, the design is not new or is not registrable for any other reason.
