If my employee infringes copyright, am I also responsible for my employee's action?

In general, an employer may be held responsible for an employee's wrongdoing if committed in the course of employment or authorised by the employer. Copyright owners might sue both the employee and employer for copyright infringement committed by the employee.
Furthermore, if a criminal offence is committed by a company, its directors, managers, secretaries and other similar officers are also personally responsible if the infringement is committed with their consent or connivance, or attributable to any neglect on their part.
