Who are eligible for subsidies for Shingrix and how much is the out-of-pocket expense after subsidies?
Singapore citizens are eligible for subsidies at CHAS GPs and polyclinics if they are recommended for shingles vaccination under the NAIS, whereas Permanent Residents (PRs) are eligible for subsidies at polyclinics only. Under the NAIS, all adults aged 60 years and above, as well as immunocompromised adults aged 18 to 59 years, are recommended to receive the vaccine.
At CHAS GP clinics, eligible Singaporeans can expect to pay around $76 to $300 for a complete two-dose course of Shingrix, depending on their CHAS card status or whether they are a Pioneer Generation or Merdeka Generation senior.
At polyclinics and MOH-funded long-term care institutions, eligible Singaporeans can expect to pay around $76 to $300 for a two-dose regimen of Shingrix, depending on their Per Capita Household Income or whether they are a Pioneer Generation or Merdeka Generation senior. Eligible Permanent Residents can expect to pay around $450.
From mid-2026, the cost of Shingrix after subsidies can be further defrayed by MediSave.
