Implementing the subsidies and MediSave use for Shingrix takes time, requiring changes to billing and national claims systems across both the public and private healthcare sectors.

With the phased approach, Singaporeans are able to benefit from the subsidy roll-out earlier in 2025 which helps cover a large proportion of the bill. The system changes enabling MediSave use will be completed in mid-2026.
