I selected DMA Option A. What software is recommended for managing my child’s screen time at home? Can I limit YouTube usage?

Updated by HCI

Under DMA Option A, the recommended and compatible tool for managing after-school device usage is the Blocksi Parents’ Portal, which is integrated into the DMA system.

With Option A, parents will receive a parent account that allows them to:

Set screen-time limits (sleep hours)

Monitor overall device usage

Manage app installation after school hours

While YouTube is not blocked by default under DMA, parents may manage access indirectly by setting overall screen-time restrictions through Blocksi’s sleep hours and supervising usage via the portal.

At the same time, it is important to communicate expectations clearly with your child. Technology controls are most effective when paired with open dialogue about responsible digital habits, boundaries, and trust. Combining parental supervision tools with ongoing conversations helps students develop healthy and self-regulated technology use over time.
