Who should receive the flu vaccine?

In the elderly aged 65 years and above, flu vaccines should be administered annually or per season as the circulating virus changes and the body’s immunity to the flu virus may decrease over time.

Please consult your doctor for more details (e.g. on the number of recommended doses and types of vaccine) for the following medical conditions:

  • Persons aged 18 years and older with chronic illnesses, such as asthma heart diseases and diabetes mellitus

  • Persons who are immunocompromised (having lower body resistance to infections) or with other medical conditions

  • Women at all stages of pregnancy

  • Persons receiving intermediate and long-term care services

  • Children below 6 months to 59 months

Nonetheless, other than the above-mentioned groups, flu vaccines are generally recommended for personal protection against the flu virus.
