Which adults are recommended to get pneumococcal vaccines?

Under the National Adult Immunisation Schedule (NAIS), the following individuals are recommended to receive pneumococcal vaccination:

  • Persons aged 65 years or older

  • Persons aged 18-64 years old with any of the following medical conditions:

    • Chronic pulmonary, cardiovascular, liver disease, or diabetes mellitus;

    • Cochlear implant or cerebrospinal fluid leaks;

    • Immunocompromising conditions;

  • Chronic kidney disease
