Why did the Government choose to extend full preschool subsidies for families regardless of the applicant’s working status?
The Government wants to ensure that every child benefits from access to affordable, quality preschool, and that this is within reach for every family. At the same time, we recognise that families structure their work and caregiving differently. This change will give parents greater assurance that affordable, quality preschool is available to their children, and the Government is committed to supporting them at every stage of their parenting journey.
