Who is eligible for Basic and Additional Subsidy?
All Singapore Citizen children enrolled at ECDA-licensed preschools can get a Basic Subsidy (BS). The amount of BS depends on the main applicant's working status and the programme type that the child is enrolled in. If the main applicant is working at least 56 hours per month, the child will qualify for a higher BS, as well as a means-tested Additional Subsidy if the family's household income or per capita income does not exceed $12,000 and $3,000 respectively.
For main applicants who are unable to work or working less than 56 hours per month due to extenuating circumstances, ECDA extends higher subsidies under Special Approval to help them defray the childcare costs on a time-limited basis.
