What steps should I take if I think my child might have developmental delays?

You may refer to the developmental milestones in your child’s Health Booklet as reference points. If you suspect your child has developmental delays, you may bring your child to the nearest polyclinic or CHAS General Practitioners (GPs) for assessment/Childhood Developmental Screening (CDS). Should there be any developmental delays observed, healthcare professionals may refer your child to specialized departments like the Department of Child Development at KK Women's and Children's Hospital (KKH) or the Child Development Unit at National University Hospital (NUH) for further assessment and for referral to suitable Early Intervention programmes, like the Early Intervention Programme for Infants and Children (EIPIC) or the Inclusive Support Programme (InSP). For detailed information on EI programmes, visit the Early Childhood Development Agency's (ECDA) website (https://www.ecda.gov.sg/parents/other-services/early-intervention-services) and the SG Enable's Enabling Guide (https://www.enablingguide.sg/).
