Before enrolment, you should alert the preschool of your child's allergy and discuss possible arrangements to manage your child’s condition. This will help you to make an informed decision on whether the preschool is able to meet the needs of your child.

If your child is known to have high risk food allergy, you should provide the preschool with a copy of the Action Plan for Anaphylaxis that is signed by a medical practitioner. This would enable the preschools work with you to manage your child’s condition and provide a timely response in the event your child has an allergic reaction.

Preschools have the flexibility to plan their own menus as long as meals provided are nutritionally balanced and catered to various age groups. Parents are encouraged to communicate with preschools on expectations and concerns to reach a mutual agreement if your child has special dietary requirements.
