What are strategic goods?
Strategic goods refer to goods and technology that meet the technical specifications described in the Strategic Goods Control List. These include conventional arms, military equipment and goods relating to the development, production and use of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons, as well as certain "dual-use" goods that are high technology items with both civilian and sensitive military applications.
To determine if your item is controlled as a strategic good, you should compare your product's description and specifications against the description and specifications in the Strategic Goods (Control) Order which can be obtained from the Strategic Goods Control webpage. If your product meets the stated descriptions and specifications, and does not meet any applicable exclusion note, it will be controlled as a strategic good under the Strategic Goods (Control) Act (SGCA).
