Updated by CUSTOMS
An inventory control system, also known as a warehouse management system, is used for the inventory control of goods stored in the licensed premises.
It should have the ability to track the movements of goods in and out of the licensed premises through the use of lot numbers or Stock-Keeping Units (SKUs). All details including the description of goods, quantity, quantity unit, value, Customs permit number, customer name and location of goods shall be registered for each lot or SKU of goods in the system.
The system should possess reporting functions, such as generating reports for tracking the stock balance of goods under a particular lot or SKU anytime and the movements of goods of all lots or specific lots in or out of the licensed premises within a period. The system should provide access control to the various options of the system as well as audit trails to account for any amendments or deletion of information.
