What are the requirements of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) in Singapore? (Exportation of rough diamonds)
For the exportation of rough diamonds, the shipment must be accompanied by a valid Singapore KP Certificate issued by Singapore Customs and the exporter or its agent must produce the shipment, Singapore's issued KP Certificate, Customs export permit and supporting documents (i.e. commercial invoice, packing list and Air WayBill (AWB)) to the checkpoint officers at the time of exportation for endorsement.
A detailed description of the rough diamonds (e.g. origin, type, size, carat weight/mass and value of rough diamonds, etc.) has to be included in your application for Customs export permit. Singapore Customs may also conduct inspections on your export shipments of rough diamonds at our office or at any premises specified.
The Singapore KP Certificate will only be issued when the inspection of the rough diamonds is found to be in order.
