I intend to sell my Singapore-bought car overseas after a continental tour. What is the procedure? What permit should I apply?
An export permit must be obtained if the motor vehicle was exported out of Singapore as manifested cargo. No export permit is required if the vehicle was self-driven out of Singapore.
If an export permit has been obtained to account for the exportation of the vehicle, no other permit is required for the sale of the vehicle overseas.
You are also advised to check with the Land Transport Authority (LTA) on their requirements for de-registration of motor vehicles, if necessary.
