I intend to export my motor vehicle permanently. Do I have to de-register it prior to exportation?

Updated by CUSTOMS

In general, the exportation of all goods (including motor vehicles) from Singapore must be covered by a Customs export permit.

If the goods are subject to export control by one or more Competent Authorities (CAs), you may be required to obtain the relevant CA license(s).

For the purpose of an export permit application, the declaring agent/exporter should declare the value of the goods based on its Free on Board (FOB) value, excluding freight and insurance charges.

You may contact the Land Transport Authority (LTA) to understand their requirements for the de-registration and exportation of motor vehicles.
