My company has an approved import permit which is still within the permit validity. However, my company has recently changed the entity's name. Do I need to amend the permit?
You may submit an electronic amendment for your import permit via TradeNet to reflect the new importer's name within the permit validity period, provided the permit has not been utilised. Do note that some permit fields cannot be amended if controlled or dutiable goods are involved. You may refer to here for the list of non-amendable fields, most of which are amendable. If amendment of the permit field is not allowed and the permit has not been utilised or expired, you may wish to cancel the permit and obtain a new permit.
