Are there any contingency plans if TradeNet is down?
In the event of TradeNet unavailability announced by Singapore Customs, exporters who are unable to obtain an approved permit should use a Letter of Undertaking (LOU) for the clearance of their goods. Exporters would have to apply for their respective permits within 3 days from the date TradeNet is restored.
For the export, transhipment or bringing in transit of strategic goods under the Strategic Trade Scheme (STS) Individual Permits during TradeNet unavailability, exporters should use an LOU for STS Individual Permit (see template under "Strategic Goods Control" section) for clearance of their strategic goods.
