For partial refund of duty and GST, which refund option should I select?
For partial refund of duty and GST, please select "Apply Partial Refund Specific (PRS)" in the TradeNet.
If the duty and GST in the permit is paid by the importer (permit with condition "GF" and "TX"), the taxable importer can only claim duty refund from Customs. For GST paid, the importer will have to claim the GST as input tax from the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) during the company's accounting period.
If the duty and GST in the payment permit is paid by the Declaring Agent (DA) (permit condition "G7"), the DA will be able to claim partial refund of duty and GST.
